As a native of Central NY and former longtime resident of Buffalo, I'm not even sure Rochester qualifies as WNY. If you say so, okay. But, Syracuse is Central New York (not Northern, not Western) or part of the greater Upstate NY... Excellent post, but a geographic nitpick- Nobody in Syracuse would ever call this area “Western” NY.
